HydroForge™ Vitalis 3 — Maintenance Guide

Maintain Your Vitalis

A clean tub every month. One routine, nine steps. Keep your Vitalis 3 hygienic, efficient, and ready for your next session.

01 — The Routine

One Month, One Reset

Every month, drain your Vitalis 3, scrub it clean, replace the filter, refill with fresh water, and treat it with the Sojourne 3-Step Spa Care System. The whole process takes about 30 minutes — and gets faster each time.

  • Frequency: Once per month. Mark it in your calendar.
  • Time required: Approximately 30 minutes.
  • If water looks off sooner: Increase the dose or frequency of PristineComfort and FreshRelax between resets. You don’t need to wait for the monthly reset.
Water condition depends on usage frequency, environment, and personal hygiene. If you notice cloudiness, odour, or discolouration before the month is up, add PristineComfort and FreshRelax immediately — don’t wait for reset day.

02 — What You’ll Need

You’ll also need

  • A brush — shoe brush, dishwashing brush, or standard cleaning brush
  • TubDrain Pro submersible pump (for draining and refilling)
  • A bucket of warm soapy water
  • The inflation pump (included with your Vitalis 3)

03 — Start Fresh

Power Off & Drain

Empty the tub completely before cleaning.

1

Power Off

Switch off all electricity in the area — chiller, flow controller, and power source.

2

Attach the Drain Pump

Attach the pipe to the TubDrain Pro, then place the submersible pump into the water using the handle.

3

Drain the Water

Point the pipe to your drainage area. Switch on the submersible pump and wait for the water to fully drain.

4

Disconnect Safely

Once fully drained, switch off and disconnect the submersible pump.

Checkpoint

Tub is empty. All power is off. Pump disconnected.

04 — Pressure Check

Inflate to 8–10 PSI

Every monthly reset, reinflate the tub. Air pressure drops naturally over time — topping up keeps the tub rigid and properly shaped.

1

Open the Valve

Rotate the air seal counterclockwise to remove it.

2

Attach the Pump

Ensure the correct attachment is used for the pump head. Twist clockwise to attach.

3

Pump to 8–10 PSI

Step both feet on the pump base to steady it. Begin pumping. Watch the gauge — inflate to the green region (8–10 PSI). Do not exceed 10 PSI.

4

Seal the Valve

Reattach the cap to seal the air.

📷 Photo Pump gauge showing green region at 8–10 PSI
Do not overinflate

Maximum 10 PSI. Overinflation can damage the drop-stitch construction.

Checkpoint

Tub inflated to 8–10 PSI. Walls rigid. Valve cap sealed.

05 — Deep Clean

Scrub the Tub

With the tub empty, scrub the interior to remove any mildew, organic buildup, or residue.

1

Prepare Soapy Water

Fill a bucket with warm water and a small amount of dish soap.

2

Scrub the Interior

Use a brush — a shoe brush, dishwashing brush, or standard cleaning brush works well. Scrub the inside walls and base of the tub. Pay attention to the waterline and corners where mildew and organic buildup tend to collect.

3

Wipe Down the Exterior

Wipe down the outside of the tub with a clean cloth.

4

Air Dry

Allow the tub to air dry before refilling.

Checkpoint

Interior scrubbed clean. No visible mildew or buildup. Tub air dried.

06 — Step 1 of 3

Replace AquaGuard Filter

Replace the filter cartridge every month. A fresh filter keeps water clear, protects the pump, and maintains proper flow. Refer to the Flow Controller diagram for part locations.

Disassembly

1

Power Off the Flow Controller

Switch off the Flow Controller before starting.

2

Loosen the Locking Ring (P4)

Turn the locking ring (P4) counterclockwise and remove the entire lid assembly.

3

Remove the Old AquaGuard Filter (P6)

Lift out the used AquaGuard micron filter cartridge (P6). Empty any remaining water from the housing.

4

Insert the New AquaGuard Filter (P6)

Place a new AquaGuard filter cartridge (P6) into the housing.

Reassembly — Correct Order

5

Seat the O-Ring (P5) on the Housing Lip (P7)

Ensure the red O-Ring (P5) is sitting gently on top of the housing lip (P7). It should rest naturally — do not force it into the locking ring (P4).

P5 sits on P7. Do not force into P4. This is the most common reassembly mistake.
6

Place the Lid (P3) Back On

Set the inner lid (P3) back on top of the housing, on top of the O-Ring.

7

Tighten the Locking Ring (P4)

Place the locking ring (P4) back on and tighten clockwise. Hand-tight only.

Do not over-tighten

Using tools or excessive force may damage the threading and deform the O-Ring (P5), causing leaks. Hand-tight is all that’s needed.

Checkpoint

New AquaGuard (P6) installed. O-Ring (P5) seated on housing lip (P7). Lid (P3) in place. Locking ring (P4) hand-tightened.

07 — Fresh Water

Refill the Tub

Fill with fresh water, power up the Flow Controller, and use the air valve to ensure strong flow.

1

Fill to the Correct Level

Fill the tub with fresh water up to the upper hole (just above the upper connection port).

2

Open the Air Valve (P1)

Before powering on, loosen the air valve (P1) on top of the Flow Controller. This releases trapped air from the system so water can flow freely.

3

Power On the Flow Controller

Power on the Flow Controller and snaplock the covered power extension. Wait for steady water flow through the system.

4

Close the Air Valve (P1)

Once the water flow is steady and strong, tighten the air valve (P1) back closed.

If flow is weak or choppy at any point during use, loosen the air valve (P1) briefly to release trapped air, then tighten it once flow normalises. This is a normal maintenance action.
Important

Running the Flow Controller without water in the tub will damage the pump and void your warranty. Always fill to the upper hole before powering on.

Checkpoint

Tub filled to upper hole. Air valve (P1) opened, then closed after steady flow. Flow Controller running. Strong, steady water circulation.

08 — Steps 2 & 3 of 3

Treat the Water

With fresh water circulating, apply PristineComfort and FreshRelax to sanitize and oxidize. This primes your tub for the next month.

Step 2 — Sanitize with PristineComfort

1

Dissolve in Hot Water

Dissolve one capful (10g) of PristineComfort in a cup of hot water.

2

Add to the Tub

Pour the dissolved solution into your Vitalis 3 tub.

3

Circulate for 15 Minutes

Allow water to circulate for a minimum of 15 minutes before use.

Step 3 — Oxidize with FreshRelax

1

Add FreshRelax

Pour ¼ bottle (250ml) of FreshRelax directly into the tub.

2

Circulate for 15 Minutes

Allow water to circulate for a minimum of 15 minutes.

Adjust the volume according to your preference and local water conditions. If you use the tub daily or share it with others, consider increasing the dose slightly.
Checkpoint

PristineComfort added and circulated 15 min. FreshRelax added and circulated 15 min. Water is clear, treated, and ready for use.

Safety

Both products contain chemicals. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or mouth. Wash hands after handling. Keep away from children. Store sealed, upright, in a cool dry place away from sunlight.
